Unwell is a Midwestern Gothic Drama podcast about ghosts, found family, responsibility, and cults. Lily, our main character throughout the series, has retured to her mother's hometown to take care of her after having suffered a slip, twisting her ankle and requiring help. Lily doesn't want to stay for any longer than she has to; She and her mother have a strained relationship stemming from her mother's decision to leave and go back to her hometown after divorcing Lily's father. Dot, Lily's mother, is also suffering from memory problems, that could be that start of a completely new problem, and still prioritizes her work, namely taking care of the boarding house she's run for years now. Meanwhile, Abbie Douglas, Rudy Peltham, and Wes, the boarding house's strange new teenaged employee, help Dot alongside Lily, and slowly become something like a family. Ghosts and weird happenings interspered within the series prove to be much more than just strange happenings.
