Hatsune Miku is a digital voicebank, Vocaloid, made by Crypton Future Media. She was the first Vocaloid to achieve a cult following and popularity unknown. As a character, she is known for her long twin, turquoise ponytails, and her high-pitched voice, which was achieved using voice samples from Japanese voice actress, Saki Fujita. Hatsune Miku changed the world for independant and unknown music producers, who used the software to make songs that are extremely popular, even today!
Kagamine Rin and Len are a pair of twin vocals developed by Crypton Future Media shortly after the debut of Hatsune Miku's voicebank software. As characters, the duo are easily recognized by their yellow theme, with blonde hair, black and white outfits, soft voices, and white headphones. Their voices were created using voice samples from voice actress Asami Shimoda. At the time of their release, the duo's voices were not well received as they were harder to manipulate than Hatsune Miku's. Additionally, Len's voice was not as masculine as producers expected, and proved difficult to use. Despite this, they are still one of the more popular voicebank softwares out to use, and have many of their own hits.
